Orchard City Limits

Orchard City Limits begins tonight! OCL is a festival that spans over the course of two evenings at The Blue Gator (Lawrence Ave.). Unfortunately if you don’t already have your tickets there is a slim to none chance that you’ll be in attendance but a little bird told me that there will be a VERY SMALL number of tickets sold at the doors at 7:30 tonight and tomorrow night so if you’re reading this right now and you don’t have a ticket I suggest you go camp out now (just like you did for the opening night of Twilight, right?).

The purpose of the festival is to celebrate eight indie-rock bands from different cities across North America that all trace their musical origins to the prolific Kelowna indie-rock music scene of the 1990’s and early 2000’s.

OCL kicks off tonight with performances by local rockers Treelines, an acoustic set from the Fruit Bats, the woodsy soul of Spoon River and the closing set played by headliners, Ladyhawk.

Wednesday night’s acts include up and coming local band Midnight, Jon-Rae Fletcher (formerly of Jon-Rae and the River), Duffy and the Doubters (the solo project of Ladyhawk member Duffy Driediger), Vancouver-based local favourites Yukon Blonde and Wednesday night headlining act Fruit Bats.

Doors are at 8pm, show starts at 9pm for both evenings.

Kelowna is awesome and so is our talent!
