The Autumn Portrait w/ Moments @ The House

The strapping young lads from Vancouver band The Autumn Portrait are going to be teaming up with the strapping young lads from local act Moments for an evening of fun and frivolity (and music of course) at The House.

First question you might have is – “Where is this house?”
The House
is not just an ordinary house but it’s a unique venue with a focus on the betterment of community life and arts and culture in Kelowna. Located very close to UBCO, they play host to student events, sports team events, faculty events as well as art exhibits, concerts & performing arts, and symposiums. They are located at Unit 1, 240 Lougheed Road.

Next question you might have is – “Who is The Autumn Portrait?”
Well let me introduce you to the Vancouver band that is The Autumn Portrait: What once started as a solo project with creative mind Freddie Mojallal on vocals and guitar has expanded to a solid 3-piece indie rock group including Dyllon Mitchell on bass and Sean Lavoy on drums with an unforgettable live show that has left crowds speechless & highly impressed. In late 2009, The Autumn Portrait released its first EP, “The Light,” performing around Vancouver as both a solo act and with a band while gaining an increasingly strong fan base. Highlights include CiTR, CJSF & CBC3 radio and being featured during the 2010 Olympics with Chapters Indigo. The Autumn Portrait is currently recording a full-length album with Tom Dobrzanski (Said the Whale, We Are The City, The Zolas) & are on a Western Canada Tour this summer!

I know you wouldn’t ask me about a local band that you already knew so I’ll just point you to Moments’ myspace.

The final question you might have is – “Details?”
This show will take place on Monday, the 23rd of August commencing at 7pm with an entry fee of $5.
