Uptown Rutland Classic Car Show and Outdoor Movie Night

Grab your family, you camera, some snacks and sunscreen and visit the 1st Annual Uptown Rutland Classic Car Show and Outdoor Movie Night taking place this Saturday, August 14th, at Rutland Centennial Park.

The entire day is free and starts with the Car Show from 1pm – 5pm, there will also be vendors, artists, and non-profits on site to showcase local arts, food, and experiences. After the car show wraps up take a break and head home to have dinner, round up the sleeping bags and lawn chairs, and come back for an Outdoor Movie night which starts at approximately 9:00pm.

The featured movie is Diary of a Wimpy Kid which is rated PG and released in early 2010. This movie follows the main character Greg Heffley through his first year of middle school. The movie features the trials and tribulations that impact kids at that tender age with the discovery of girls being cute, rapid growth spurts, and the arrival or lack of mustaches and muscles.

The event is put on by the Uptown Rutland Business Association (URBA) which provides a forum for members to share their vision for the community and ensures the voice of the business community is heard by municipal, provincial and federal government. URBA organizers monthly business networking events like the Uptown After Hours and other community events such as the upcoming October 3rd Scarecrow Festival.
