Kelowna Farmer’s Market, Breakfast Wrap

Another day another wrap. I promised a week and a bit back that I would make a post dedicated to my new best friend, the breakfast wrap from the Farmer’s Market. Here it is. Home cured bacon, egg, hashbrowned potatoes, salsa, aged chedda baked in a flour tortilla. Are you freaking kidding me?

This little delight is a little on the spicy side, it burns my tongue and ooh babe you make it hurt so good. This wrap is packed full, I have yet to finish an entire wrap in one sitting. To illustrate the point today it was a shared venture even to finish it. This little creation is from one Neil Schroeter, chef & owner of Okanagan Street Food, a roaming truck out of Peachland that covers the Kelowna Farmer’s Market and Naramata Community Market (June to mid-September) and what a treat it is for us!

In Kelowna (as opposed to Vancouver) it can be easy to dismiss street-meat vendors but Schroeter’s biography sees him complete the 2-year Culinary Arts program with honors in 1990, obtain a ‘red seal’ at Southern Alberta Institute of Technology (SAIT), completing the Sommelier course at George Brown College in TO, followed by experience in Val David, Quebec and at the five-diamond King Edward Hotel in Toronto, ON. Nine years at the Delta Whistler Resort, and seven years as Chef de Cuisine at Sumac Ridge Winery before he started this venture.

Wow. And here I am drooling over a wrap.

Here’s Schroeter with my other best friend, champagne.
