Summer Beach Party, Kelowna Community Food Bank Fundraiser

Summer Beach Parties (arguably our favorite kind of parties) often evoke feelings of nostalgia. Whether it’s Beach Blanket Bingo or a calming weekend at Camp Crystal Lake, we all have memories (real, or not) of great times celebrating warm weather. This celebration is all of that, and for a good cause!

The Okanagan Developer’s Group (OKDG) is sponsoring a fundraising show supporting the Kelowna Community Food Bank on Saturday, July 30. The event is at The Grateful Fed pub located at 509 Bernard Avenue. The Ozzy Ozmunds are a punk, reggae, rock, ska band doing remakes and covers of song remakes from artists like Duran Duran, The Kinks, Neil Diamond, Sinead O’Connor, et al while DJ Rich Taylor entertains in between sets. Using music to promote a fundraising event for the Food Bank? Sounds like using your powers for good awesome, we’re into that!

Naturally, the evening is beach party themed, so be there wearing your beach-iest beach attire to try to win a ‘best costume’ prize. Also for those poor losers there will be a door prize. Everyone WINS!

The Kelowna Community Food Bank (KCFB, while we’re sharing abbreviations) are a self supporting, non-profit organization helping those of us who temporarily cannot help themselves. Last year over 40,000 people passed through their doors, 40% children under 16 – 100% hungry. Their mission: To work in partnership towards the alleviation of chronic hunger and poverty in the Central Okanagan.

Cover is $5 plus a non-perishable food donation! See you all there!
