Christmas at the Hub | Featuring Windmills, Oceans Apart and Behind Sapphire

Art and music. Two things I like. The Hub in Vernon is a brand new art collective/live music venue with a funky, eclectic vibe. Its a place for artists to share and sell their work, for musicians to showcase their talent and for the public to come together to enjoy and love art. I was was able to photograph one of the first big shows to happen at this awesome new venue and I must say, it was a doozy!

First up, from Vernon, was Windmills, the brain child of Cory Myraas (ex-Poor Little Rich Girl,) a one man musical onslaught of melodic looped guitar and beautifully crafted lyrics.

Kelowna natives Oceans Apart took to the stage next and jammed out beautiful post-rock/emo in lieu of The Appleseed Cast and American Football, with crooner Chris Stickney, at the helm.

On their last leg of a Canadian tour, headliners Behind Sapphire, from Vancouver BC, hit hard with catchy, soulful lyrics, a fun loving sense of carefree whimsy, and folk pop musical styling. I found myself tapping my feet way more than shooting photos! They were amazing.

I’m very excited for the big, bright, artful future of The Hub!
