Come and check out history tomorrow evening at Prospera Place in Kelowna, BC, when British Columbia’s SS Rodeo Roller Girls take on Seattle’s Tilted Thunder Rail Birds on Canada’s ONLY Banked Roller Derby Track!
This will be Kelowna’s first taste of Banked Track Roller Derby, and the first game Canada has seen here on the track since the 1970′s!
Banked Tracks are still popular and running in the United States, but never stuck around in Canada. SS Rodeo Sports & Entertainment, along with Martin Contracting, have spent the last year getting this track up and running. The girls have been working hard and practicing here for the last few months, and are ready for the debut event tomorrow!
The official after-party will be held at The Habitat, 248 Leon Avenue. Only $5 admission. DJ’s Mongo Joe & Rhythmia will be playing until 1:30am. Come and kick it with the girls on skates! There will also be some great silent auction prizes, a longboard from Cariboo Brewing, and a half a years supply of beers!
Come out and bring the family and support your local roller derby girls!
