Coffee Culture | Bean to Cup

I’m a coffee freak! I love everything from bean to cup and in my opinion for our generation the café has almost replaced the bar as a key social hub for shooting the breeze or enjoying refreshing beverages.

That being said, for as long as I can remember there’s been a café that’s stood out as a major junction for youth and coffee lovers alike in Vernon – Bean to Cup.

Bean to Cup was a huge part of my life growing up, when none of my friends had cars and nothing to do on a Friday night there was always Bean to Cup. Thankfully it was the only non-bar establishment that was open till 11 or later and fully licensed.

They’ve got all the traditional café stuff and more.  Baked goods, soups, salads and sandwiches, of course coffee and iced drinks and my personal favorite “Butter Chicken Wednesdays!”

By the way all the coffee is roasted in house, so you know it’s fresh.

The staff is super nice and helpful and if you want to beat the line up they have TEXT ORDERING! What?! Send a text with your order to a dedicated till and pick up using your order number.

The procedure is as follows:

1) Text your order to 250.514.9893
2) Receive an order number
3) Go to the express line and pick up without waiting!

Bean to Cup has undergone some pretty fantastic changes over the past few years, the menu has been updated and the basement has had a complete facelift.  There’s huge comfortable couches and 4 or 5 two person tables for those who want to sit and eat or study.

Bean to Cup has free wi-fi, so all you laptop toting café surfers can set up shop and work away. Speaking from personal experience, my iPhone is my office so I know how much of a relief it is to be able to ship email and surf the web FOR FREE on the road.

But back to the basement, now that it’s all cozy and renovated Bean to Cup is letting local artists display their work with the intention to sell.

The gallery Bean to Cup is run by Nightmair Media Management, if you’re interested in setting up a show for yourself send them an email at

Well that about sums it up, good coffee, good exposure and most of all good people! Hope everyone has the chance to check out Bean to Cup soon, you might even see me there hanging out and working. Visit Bean to Cup on Facebook for updates.
