Endless Summer

Let’s not call it denial, (that’s such an ugly word) let’s just say, even though winters in the Okanagan are both beautiful and great excuses to hit the mountain, we still reminisce about driving with the windows down. This is our ode to Vitamin D, the A-OK Endless Summer; articles from and inspired by golden rays and longer days.

#AOKENDLESSSUMMER – 3rd Edition

We’ve challenged you to take part in a summer story; one where where we can all contribute to a visual diary of Endless Summer in the Awesome Okanagan. (Find out more about what we want to share with you!) We lovingly refer to this little project by its Twitter hashtag, the #aokendlesssummer.

We’re back with our 3rd Edition of the photos you’ve shared. Catch up on the 1st Edition & 2nd Edition now!

Keloha 2012 – Part 1: Friday, July 6

Part 1 of 4 of a web-series about Keloha Music & Art Festival’s inaugural year. We were backstage with some of Canada (and the world’s) most-talented, emerging artists. The A-OK team literally put blood, sweat and tears into this weekend keeping up with all the activity (and shenanigans) and can’t wait to show you some of what we saw over the weekend.

Part 1 features Friday’s headliners Tokyo Police Club & Graffiti6. Pyper talks to them about what made them huge, their favourite part about festival season, and, of course, what’s awesome about the Okanagan.

Music by Tokyo Police Club, their song “Tessellate”
and by Graffiti6, their song “Stone in My Heart.”

Lbourgo Wins a Weekend Pass to Keloha!

There were a lot of great #aokendlessummer entries for our Keloha weekend pass contest but only one winner! We love that Lisa Bourgault (@lbourgo) had the wherewithal to force her friends into freezing water, and we feel that encapsulates the summer spirit in the Awesome Okanagan! If we’re lucky, she’ll tweet #aokendlessummer all weekend and we can see what she gets up to!

#AOKENDLESSSUMMER – 2nd Edition

#AOKENDLESSSUMMER – 1st Edition

We’ve been keeping our eyes out on Twitter and Instagram for the photos that would evoke an instant nostalgia for the present, ones that felt just right to us. I’m really excited to show to you some of the first ones to come in, mostly because these aren’t even all the ones we’ve seen! This is a summary of the ones that really stood out to us. Effing stoked to share more over the summer.

Tweet With #aokendlesssummer

We want YOU to get involved this summer, but rather than tell us why you love summer in the A-OK, we want you to show us! With all the photo apps out there available on your smart phones and all the different ways to access Twitter, we’d love to see what you get up to this season and share it with everyone else! We want you to abuse Instagram and Hipstamatic, take advantage of any camera you have and your (potentially) sleepy Twitter account and post amazing photos of you and your friends having fun using the hashtag #aokendlesssummer and we’ll retweet and re-post the great images you share with everyone else!

Sunny Days

Nothing too heavy for this post. I was at my friends house the other week, sipping beer on his patio and enjoying the sun. He’s got a pretty great spot up North Glenmore with a side view of Dilworth Mountain, full-on view looking down at Kelowna all the way to the lake. And, on those somewhat blustery days, we find shelter from Knox Mountain which comes right up out of his backyard. I took this Instagram of the roof of his house, the blue sky and gorgeous sun/cloud combo.
