Pop Okanagan

Founded in 2011 in the wake of the 2010 BreakOut West Festival/Western Canadian Music Awards and presented by & hosted in Downtown Kelowna saw the Pop Okanagan Festival return to grassroots.

The 2011 Pop Okanagan Festival took place from October 13th—16th and included a 3 night music festival, conferencing, a local filmmaker showdown, and even some family friendly activities and A-OK was there supporting it all! Created and supported by people who love music, progress, live performance and celebration, this festival was designed by the Okanagan, for the Okanagan.

A-OK DJ Mixtape: JPod’s “Grass and Gospel”

One of Pop Okanagan’s local feature DJs, JPod mixes up this month’s A-OK DJ Mixtape. Grass and Gospel is a unique and soul-stirring selection of JPod remixes inspired by bluegrass and gospel songs blended with his big beats and heavy bass. Reminiscing in faith-inspired music of the past has never been more fun.

A-OK Mixcast Twelve – Pop Okanagan

Fall is in full swing. October showers mean it’s getting colder, but also means we’re 9 days away from Pop Okanagan, the music festival replacing BreakOut West. To get you excited about the acts coming through, we spent hours going through the line up, painstakingly narrowing down who to play on this Mixcast for you, but I think we have it! I share with you the Pop Okanagan Mixcast, with 23 of the over 60 artists that will be performing over the weekend. While all the artists are great, we simply couldn’t fit them all on here! We had to pick a cross-section of the bands, a bunch of different genres to show you the scope of the event. As well, trying to pick out-of-town acts you may be more unfamiliar with, all while balancing locals. So check out the A-OK Pop Okanagan Mixcast featuring more great Canadian talent!
